I was about to write that we had a smooth day, but we found out that Caroline needed some help breathing this afternoon. They tried to stimulate her to get her to breathe and she didn't respond. They had to use the oxygen bag again, but only for 5-10 seconds. She recovered and is doing well now. The last time this happened, they had to use the bag for a few minutes. Katie did say that her prongs on her CPAP kept on coming out today. She had really been doing well for the last few days. Hopefully this was just a little slip up.
My Grandmother, Virginia Nollner (we call her Meme) sent us a really neat article. It was about about a pregnant woman that had preeclampsia, just like Katie, except that she had to deliver even earlier. The baby girl was just 13.7 ounces at birth. By comparison, Caroline was 30 ounces. This baby girl had even greater challenges than Caroline, but she is about to celebrate her 1st birthday and seems to a very healthy baby. If you want to read the full article and watch the video, go here. I know that Meme has some wonderful friends in Abilene keeping her updated with our blog entries. Thank you all so much!
Here is another short video clip of Caroline - link.
Looks like she knows who you are! Love to see her moving around!
