From what we understand, this is very similar to what happened two weeks ago in the middle of the night. Like last time, they are going to do a full work up to rule out an infection. A full work up means, spinal tap, blood and urine cultures, chest x-ray, ect. They will start her on IV antibiotics for 48 hours until the blood and urine cultures come back.
Caroline's doctor told us this might be a normal premie thing but she wants to be proactive and catch something early. They have told us many times they want to keep a close eye on her for infection because she is so small. They have also turned up the pressure on her CPAP and told us this could happen a few more times before she goes home.
Ryan and I really appreciate your continued prayers.

Please pray for no infection and a normal chest x-ray. I just called and her stats are good. Her nurse was in the middle of drawing blood and starting an IV. They did not have her chest x-ray back. Once we have some news we will update this post.
Ryan and I really appreciate your continued prayers.

Awww, sorry for the bumps yet rest assured, many are the prayers!
ReplyDeleteContinued positive thoughts being sent your way. There will be many ups and downs and I'm confident you and your little fighter will navigate them all!
ReplyDeleteThe God of all hope and tomorrows, is holding her little body in the palm of His hand. She feels that spiritual comfort even as we cannot comfort her (due to her physical distress). May we, too, feel that comfort, and that knowing presence. Love you!
ReplyDeleteContinued prayers for you all...we love you guys. So glad I got to meet Caroline today. I can't wait until all these NICU days are in our rearview mirror.
ReplyDeleteMeeting me just took her breath away! :) Okay probably not the best time for jokes, but I witnessed Miss Caroline's strength and feistyness and I just know that she will be ok, infection or not. I'll pray for the less bumpy path. xoxo
ReplyDeleteHolding you all in my heart and prayers...trusting God that He will carry her thru this bump...Thanking Him for her--for you both-- and all He has done and is doing in and thru her precious life.

ReplyDeleteHey girl- I am praying for you and your beautiful little angel. I saw a friend of mine over the weekend that had her little boy at 24 weeks. She'd love to talk to you...come and see you...just provide you with any support, as someone who went through it. Max, her little boy is completely healthy and just started 1st grade. Let me know if you'd like to talk to her.
