Miss Caroline had a better day today. She is still on an elevated CPAP level, but she did well with it. The doctors said that she, to put it medically, had a lot of boogers. The CPAP can cause that to happen. The gave her a deep cleaning and cleared up her airways a little. That should help her out a lot.
More good news is that she put on weight the last two days. She is up to 3 pounds, 3 ounces. I think it's a good sign that she put on weight even though she was working so hard. I could really notice today that she looks bigger. She has gained 21 ounces. They were not able to measure her length because it usually agitates her. They gave her the day off. She looks longer to me. I noticed that the pillow that she sleeps on is starting to look smaller. She will need a bigger one soon.
I was feeling a little flat yesterday. The smells and sounds got to me for the first time in awhile. We had a good night last night with friends and I was feeling better today. It helps that Caroline's machines were not beeping as much today.
The NICU has getting prepared for a 25 week baby to arrive tonight. It was neat for me to see all of the things the nurses had to do in preparation for the baby. I overheard that the baby was a little smaller than Caroline. It makes me sick for the parents, but I know they will have good people taking care of her.
How nice that they gave her a day off being measured, since it agitates her! Thanks for posting. Today we studied Psalm 88...and boy, the writer was "flat". It's not a popular Psalm, but we would miss it if it were gone, because we do get down. The important thing is to keep the dialogue going...every which way. Thank you, for talking to all of us.
