Halloween Week

I think that TCH celebrates Halloween all week.  Caroline's crib has a few decorations and they had her in a festive onesie.

I was supposed to bottle feed Caroline this afternoon, but Occupational Therapy fed her this morning.  She took her entire bottle for the first time.  They are going to try to give her the bottle again at 3 a.m.  As she progresses, they will let try to bottle feed her several times a day and eventually for every feeding (if Katie is not there to nurse).  The doctors say that every baby is different with feeding.  They may take one step forward and then two steps back.  Still, they are happy with her progress so far.

She had a very brief heart deceleration today.  It was her first deceleration since Wednesday.  Before that, she was averaging about 1 deceleration a day.  They are not concerned with the very brief decelerations right now.  She is still trying to adjust to life without caffeine (took her off of it 10 days ago).

Caroline is almost 17.5 inches in length.  She was 13 inches when she was born.  She is about 5 pounds, 6 ounces.  As I predicted, she did lose some weight a few days ago and just now gained it back.

I get asked almost every day about the time frame for Caroline coming home.  I try not to think about it because I try to live one day at a time.  However, one of the doctors finally brought up the topic.  He said that she still needs "a couple of weeks at least".  We are in no hurry.  She will come home when she is ready.

Here are some more pictures.  I cannot decide on the best one, so I will put them all up.

Here is a picture of Caroline on August 28th next to the doll:

  5. I think I'd have at least one deceleration/day if I were taken off caffeine. Thus proving Caroline is SUPER BABY once again!!
